Detroit contractor faces $265,200 in MIOSHA fines

Detroit-based construction firm DMC Consultants Inc. faces fines of $265,200 for allegedly violating worker safety rules, the Michigan OSHA has announced. MIOSHA cited DMC Consultants with 14 violations, mostly related to asbestos removal, after health inspections in July and August at two Ypsilanti duplexes the contractor was renovating. Michigan fines company $35K after fatal collapse

Michigan OSHA has fined a construction company $35,000 for conditions at an Ypsilanti building where a worker died following a floor collapse in May. The citations issued last month describe a construction area that wasn’t properly prepared, inspected or cleared including during the time when the 38-year-old man was killed. Detroit Free Press

Fed-OSHA: Ohio plastics plant worker electrocuted

A worker was electrocuted at a plastics plant in Haviland, Ohio, early Monday. Haviland Plastics was hit by Fed-OSHA with four violations in April and fined more than $13,000, according to online records. Workplace accident kills Little Rock man
