Subcontractors burned in explosion outside Nebraska school

Two subcontractors on a school expansion project suffered critical burn injuries in an apparent gas vapor explosion on the campus of a public school Monday morning in Malcolm, Nebraska. ‘Citizen suit’ against Texas refinery settled

As the result of a settlement with environmental groups that alleged years of air pollution violations, Pasadena Refining System, a subsidiary of Brazilian state-controlled oil company Petrobras, has agreed to install new pollution control equipment at its Houston-area refinery to reduce emissions of asthma-inducing particulate matter and other pollutants, including during hurricanes.
